About

Competing on Execution is led by high-tech and energy industry professional Meri Gruber. Meri has her share of war stories from the jungles of Borneo to the board rooms of Silicon Valley. With a quest for adventure and a penchant for all things techy, Meri interned at The Boeing Company and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. With her BSEE in hand, she spent 12 years crisscrossing the globe for Schlumberger and Total, working in Norway, France, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia and Australia, stopping off at INSEAD to get her MBA.
Inspired by an article in The Economist that the city of Palo Alto was on the internet, Meri moved to Silicon Valley where she joined Ernst & Young Management Consulting working for leading high tech companies. Intel Corporation was a client, and soon after hired her to lead programs in their Supply Chain organization. Catching the Silicon Valley entrepreneur bug, Meri joined Intel’s New Business Incubator as Director, Business Development for an OLED display technology venture. She then worked as an Investment Manager for Intel Capital, focusing on ecosystem development for emerging technologies and on funding and business development and formation for internal ventures.
Meri has co-founded two companies, driving the strategy and execution of all aspects of the business and business development, positioning new applications and technologies in complex ecosystems.
Meri has been fortunate to work with some of the smartest companies in the world, and some of the smartest people building their own companies. She has experienced the good, the bad and the ugly in business strategy and execution. Meri launched Competing on Execution because she is passionate about sharing her know-how (and her stories) with companies that think big no matter what their size.
